Janise L. Miller (Member) has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia for almost four decades. Attorney Miller graduated from Spalding University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and History. Attorney Miller earned her Juris Doctorate at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and has focused most of her legal career as a litigator in the areas of real estate, employment, entertainment, intellectual property, contracts, family, probate, and estate matters. Attorney Miller has represented businesses, governmental entities, and individuals in legal matters before administrative tribunals, trial courts, appellate courts, and the United States Supreme Court. She has served as Director of Compliance and In-House Counsel for a nationwide Title & Escrow company. As a member of the Eidson-Kessler National Institute for Trial Advocacy Program at Emory University, she prepared third-year students for careers in civil litigation. Attorney Miller is a past President of the Gate City Bar Association, an active member of the National Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia. She is a graduate of the United Way VIP program and serves on the Board of the Tolton Ambassadors Atlanta, an organization commissioned by the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Atlanta to promote the cause for the canonization (sainthood) of Father Augustus Tolton – the first African American Roman Catholic Priest in the United States of America. Additionally, she is a graduate student at the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University, New Orleans, Louisiana. Attorney Miller currently serves as Deputy Solicitor for the City of East Point, Georgia, and previously served as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Atlanta. Attorney Miller practices in the Transactional and Estate Planning Practice Groups.
