Chelsea M. Freeman Dease (Partner) is a native of Southwest Atlanta, Georgia and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with a minor in Dance Performance from the University of South Carolina Honors College, Magna Cum Laude. She received her Juris Doctor from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law where she was the Criminology Articles Editor (2015-2016) for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. Prior to joining Johnson & Freeman LLC, Chelsea was a litigation associate at Greenberg Traurig and gained substantive experience in tort defense, specifically the representation of renowned hospital authorities, pharmaceutical companies, and medical device manufacturers. Additionally, Chelsea has experience in the area of labor and employment law representing a U.S. based law firm in a high-profile labor dispute regarding a terminated employee. She will practice with the Business Litigation Group.
Chelsea is a 2021 graduate of the Gate City Bar Association’s Inaugural LEAD Leadership Development Academy and currently a member of the Defense Lawyers Association, Gate City Bar Association, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and the American Bar Association, Young Lawyers’ Division. She is a member of Cascade United Methodist Church, Northwestern Pritzker School of Law’s Alumni Association, and a member of the Pi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc (Risk Management Committee).
